| BROADBAND
IN FINDON |
Jeff Nutbeem ran a campaign called Broadband
for Findon.
The 21st Century evenually reached Findon
at the beginning of
December 2004, when the local telephone exchange was enabled for
broadband by BT.
My 1,152Kbps connection was enabled mid-December,
so I was then able to set up a wireless network. All our PCs could
access the Internet and we could talk on the phone, all at the same
time. Better still, at the end of December 2004 our connection was
upgraded
to 2Mbps, so we were able to work even more efficiently. It was great!
I didn't
have a landline when I moved to France in 2005, so I accessed the
Internet by means of a wireless Vodaphone
Mobile Connect 3G/GPRS data card in my laptop. I used OnSpeed
to boost the 56Kbps dialup speed. Nowadays I have a landline with a
2Mbps connection to the Internet.
You can use Broadband|checker
to find which ISPs can provide you with broadband in Findon.

Screen Ruler is a superb virtual ruler, that can be
dragged around your computer screen. This application is invaluable for
measuring objects in pixels, inches, decimal inches, picas,
centimetres, percentage of length and in multiple custom settings of
your own design. It features horizontal and/or vertical orientation,
dynamic mouse tracking measurement, adjustable length, a square tool, a
magnifying screen loupe, plus it can float above all other windows. It
measures diagonals, displays angles and square areas, which is
incredibly handy when designing Web Pages, or any other screen layout.
Named "Cool Tool" by Internet World Magazine (for good
reason).
For years, Screen Ruler has provided many worldwide
users the ability to measure virtually anything on their computer
screens. The latest version is packed with even more features, thus
surpassing anything similar found elsewhere. It is highly recommended.
