1 - What has changed recently?

Pages are updated from time-to-time, on an adhoc basis. Obviously, pages containing information that changes most often tend to be the ones that get updated most frequently. For example:

As pages are updated they are being made more suitable for viewing with a display resolution of 800 x 600 pixels.

This website mostly contains information about the historic village of Findon and the nearby Iron Age hillfort of Cissbury Ring. However, it also contains information about other things such as photography and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

8- Why do some parts of this website appear to be out-of-date?

This website contains a lot of pages. Maintaining them is a bit like painting the Forth Railway Bridge (ie it's a never ending task!). While this website hasn't been around quite as long as the Forth Bridge, sometimes it feels like it! Most of the original construction effort was put in between 1997-1999. Little changed during 2000, however work on updating it began in during 2001 and has continued off and on, to date.

So, work on updating and maintaining this website is ongoing. Out-of-date pages are gradually being updated, however because it's quite a big site there's lots that needs to be done, so please be patient. I maintain this website in my spare time, as and when it suits my mood. Updated pages are validated to ensure they are XHTML 1.0 and CSS compliant. If you don't know what XHTML or CSS are then visit the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) page.

This website has been accessed millions of times since it was launched in 1997 and seems to have taken on a life of its own. It no longer resembles the original websit; it is constantly evolving.

10 - What is the purpose of this site?

Good question! I used to say that it's a repository for all sorts of information about the historic village of Findon, and the nearby Iron Age hillfort of Cissbury Ring - past and present and Chanctonbury Ring. It still is! However, it now also contains information about photography and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), plus many hundreds of links to other useful sites.

The three main links pages are:

The website has been expanded to include information about Findon Valley, Church Hill and the new South Downs National Park.
